Ethical Observation

01
Silence & Discretion

We favour small groups to minimize noise and encourage natural proximity without disturbance.

02
Safe Distance

Our guides ensure appropriate distances are maintained for animal welfare and observer safety.

03
Baited Observation Site

Observation takes place at a site where black bears are attracted with bait. We are transparent about this method, and the activity remains supervised by a guide.

PREPARE YOUR OUTING

To make the most of the experience, we suggest bringing:

  • Neutral-coloured clothing (camouflage or earth tones)
  • Quiet walking shoes
  • A camera with a zoom lens (ideally)
  • Personal binoculars (optional)
  • Insect repellent (depending on the season)
  • Warm clothing (mornings are cool)
“

Black bear watching requires calm and discretion. Follow your guide’s instructions carefully and maintain a safe distance throughout the outing.
